Question
Is there a difference in the eligibility rules between a student who transfers and a student who makes a bona fide move?

Answer
Yes. Transfer students meet the domicile rule by transferring prior to June 1 before entering grades 7, 8, 9, and 10. Students whose parents make a bona fide move meet the domicile requirement when the bona fide move is confirmed. A CSAP form must be completed before transfers compete but is not required for students who make a bona fide move.

Question
If a transfer student missed the June 1 deadline, is there a way for that student to participate in games this year?

Answer
Yes, but JV only.

A JV CSAP form must be completed and then the student could play on a 7th grade team, an 8th grade team, or a high school JV team.

I have a couple of questions about the WBGT
1. Can we set it up in the shade to determine whether or not we can practice?
2. Do the WBGT requirements apply to the benefit games?

Answers
1. No, the WBGT needs to be in the same location and surface as the practice.
2. No, benefit games are considered contests, not practices. Administrators should consider starting time, extra breaks, etc. when planning for benefit games.
