The 2026 high school football season has yet to kickoff in Arkansas, but that doesn't mean teams and fans aren't looking ahead to a potential postseason run.

The AAA Board of Directors approved the rotation for the 2026 Football State Finals at their annual workshop in June. All football championship games rotate each season, with the exception of the 8-man championship and 2A championship. The 8-man championship game is played on Thursday night, to ensure there is enough time to prepare the field as lines must be painted prior to the contest and then washed away prior to the 11-man championship games. The 2A member schools voted to approve playing at noon on the first Friday of the two championship weekends to help accommodate parking concerns between War Memorial Stadium and the Arkansas State Hospital.
