The 2015-2016 school year brings many “beginning of the year” activities. It is a very busy time for school administrators, teachers, coaches and students. We are looking forward to another great year at the Arkansas Activities Association as our fall interscholastic activities are about to begin. Let me express my gratitude in allowing me to serve as your AAA Board of Directors President for the 2015-2016 school year.
The AAA is committed to supporting our member schools, coaches and student athletes. This commitment is designed to foster a cooperative spirit of good sportsmanship on the part of the school representatives, school patrons, and students. Our main objectives are to teach responsibility, discipline, time management, and the spirit of competition and good sportsmanship, all within a close-knit family environment. Success is not measured in wins and losses but by the team’s ability to exemplify the core values of respect, integrity, cooperation, self-discipline, sportsmanship and citizenship.
Student athletes are challenged and supported by experienced faculty-coaches who promote and deepen understanding of the sport they coach, and they foster, through example and mentoring, a deep commitment to teammates and school. Challenges hold a great opportunity to learn and grow. It allows us to discover something worth appreciating about our experience. It makes it possible to recognize true value that might have gone unnoticed, and to see things as a new opportunity.
On behalf of the AAA Board of Directors, thank each and every one of you for your support of the AAA and our student athletes. May each of you enjoy the opportunities that await you in the 2015-2016 school year.
